A floating sauna on the Ottawa River? The NCC wants to build one

Toon Dreessen, president of Architects DCA, was mentioned in the CBC article, applauding the NCC’s vision to finally bring energy back to the riverfront. Instead of leaving space sitting idle, this project shows how we can put it to good use, creating the kind of public place it was always meant to be: lively, welcoming, and connected to the city.
The NCC is moving ahead with plans for a floating sauna on the Ottawa River beside the River House. Designed to hold 15 to 25 people, the sauna will be a year-round destination that blends recreation with a renewed focus on the waterfront. The project is expected to be completed by late 2025.
