Village-Facade, Ottawa Architect, Architecture, Westboro

This renovation of a series of façades in Westboro created a village identity for the series of stores. Existing second floor office space connected what turned out to be three different buildings, each with its own unique set of concealed conditions that needed repair. Hidden layers of stucco, insulation and framing were removed, along with outdated glazing and doors.

New entrances, windows and tile were provided, along with masonry, metal and cement paneling, stone veneer accents and vertical western red cedar. Backlit corten steel signage panels were installed, along with new lighting, to create identity for the stores as well as second floor offices.
